Dieter Breuer

Dieter Breuer was born in 1938 in Preußisch Eylau. He received his doctorate from the University of Mainz in 1968 with a study of the seventeenth-century religious novel and completed his habilitation in 1978 with a work on Upper German literature from 1565 to 1650. From 1982 to 2003, he was Professor of Modern German Literature at the German Department of RWTH Aachen University. His research interests included the early modern period, Goethe, and the Nibelungenlied.
