David Grossman, born in Jerusalem in 1954, is an Israeli writer. He has published novels, nonfiction and children’s books, which have been translated into many languages. His best-known works include the novel »A Horse Walks into a Bar«, which received the International Man Booker Prize in 2017. Grossman has also received the Geschwister-Scholl Prize (2008), the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade (2010) and the German Order of Merit.
