David Garnett

David Garnett was born in Brighton on 9 March 1892 and worked as a writer, bookseller, publisher and critic. His first novel published under his own name was *Dame zu Fuchs* (1922), for which he received several awards. Garnett was married for a second time to Angelica Bell, the daughter of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant. He lived with them for a time at Charleston Farmhouse. He died on 17 February 1981.
