Daniel Cohn-Bendit

Author · 4 books

Born in 1945, Daniel Cohn-Bendit became a prominent figure of the French May 1968 protests and influenced political debates in the 1970s. Rather than becoming a professional revolutionary, he worked, among other things, as a bookseller and edited the alternative magazine “Pflasterstrand.” He later emerged as a leading representative of the Realos, the pragmatic wing of Germany’s Greens. From 1990, he served as Frankfurt city councillor for multicultural affairs and subsequently spent around twenty years as a member of the European Parliament. He also worked as a documentary filmmaker and political commentator.
