Daniel Boyarin

Daniel Boyarin (born 1946) studied at the Jewish Theological Seminary and Columbia University and earned his doctorate from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. He taught at institutions including Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Bar-Ilan University, Yale, Harvard, and Yeshiva University. In 1990, he became the holder of the Hermann P. and Sophia Taubman Chair of Talmudic Culture at the University of California, Berkeley. In 2016/17, he was a fellow at the Max Weber Kolleg in Erfurt and an Alexander von Humboldt senior fellow at the Institute for Catholic Studies at Freie Universität Berlin.
