Dana Vowinckel

Dana Vowinckel was born in Berlin in 1996 and studied linguistics and literary studies in Berlin, Toulouse, and Cambridge. In 2021, she received the Deutschlandfunk Prize at the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition for an excerpt from her debut novel, *Gewässer im Ziplock*. The novel also won the Familienroman Book Prize of the Ravensburger Foundation, the Literature Prize of the German Economy, and the Mara-Cassens Prize; it was nominated for the Leipzig Book Fair Prize, translated into several languages, and adapted for the stage. For *Anton und Alma*, Vowinckel received, among other distinctions, an annual fellowship from the German Literature Fund.
