Cordt Schnibben

Cordt Schnibben (born 1952) is a journalist and author. He studied economics, attended the Hamburg School of Journalism and began his career at the weekly newspaper Die Zeit before working as a reporter and editor at Der Spiegel. From 2001 to 2013, he headed the magazine’s Society department; he also led the monthly magazine Spiegel Reporter. Schnibben has written and edited numerous nonfiction books, including 11 September – The History of a Terrorist Attack and Corona – The History of an Announced Death, as well as the novel Lila Eule. He developed multimedia storytelling formats, made television documentaries and wrote screenplays. His awards include the Theodor Wolff Prize, the Egon Erwin Kisch Prize, the Henri Nannen Prize and two Adolf Grimme Awards.
