Constantin Goschler, born in Göppingen in 1960, is a historian and professor of contemporary history at Ruhr University Bochum. His research and publications address compensation and restitution for victims of Nazi persecution, politics of memory, intelligence services and internal security, as well as biopolitics and the popularization of science. His books include »Wiedergutmachung. Westdeutschland und die Verfolgten des Nationalsozialismus, 1945–1954« (2002) and »Rudolf Virchow. Mediziner, Anthropologe, Politiker« (2002). Together with Rüdiger Graf, he edited »Europäische Zeitgeschichte seit 1945« (2010).
