Colin Barrett

Colin Barrett was born in Canada in 1982 and grew up in County Mayo, Ireland. He initially worked for a mobile phone company in Dublin before studying creative writing at University College Dublin, completing his studies in 2009. His short stories have appeared in The Stinging Fly, Granta, Harper’s and The New Yorker, among other publications. His debut collection, Young Skins, received the Guardian First Book Award, the Frank O’Connor International Short Story Award and the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature.
