Claus Kiefer

Claus Kiefer studied physics and astronomy at the universities of Heidelberg and Vienna. In 1988, he received his doctorate in Heidelberg with a dissertation on the concept of inner time in canonical quantum gravity; he completed his habilitation in 1995. He subsequently taught at the universities of Zurich and Freiburg and spent extended periods, among other places, at the University of Cambridge, the Université de Montpellier, and the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin. In 2001, he was appointed professor of theoretical physics at the University of Cologne. His publications include *Der Quantenkosmos.
