Claire Oshetsky

Claire Oshetsky is the author of the novels “Hirschtier” and “Chouette.” In 2022, “Chouette” was longlisted for the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction and received the William Saroyan International Prize for Writing. Oshetsky’s short stories have appeared in Alaska Quarterly, Hayden’s Ferry, North American Review, and other publications. Before turning to fiction, she worked in science journalism and wrote for Wired, Technology Review, The New York Times, and other magazines. She received the American Society of Journalists and Authors’ Article of the Year award four times.
