Christopher Paolini was born in California in 1983. He became known for the fantasy series about the dragon rider Eragon, writing the first novel at the age of 15. The book was initially self-published by his parents before being released by a major publisher. Paolini wrote four volumes of the Eragon saga as well as a related collection of stories. He is the creator of the World of Eragon and the Fractalverse.
