Christopher Middleton

Christopher Middleton (1926–2015) was a British poet and translator. After serving for four years in the Royal Air Force, he studied at Oxford. He later taught in Zurich, London and Texas, and began writing poetry during this period. His English translations included works by Friedrich Nietzsche, Paul Celan and Christa Wolf. Both his poetry and his translations received international recognition and numerous awards.
