Christopher McDougall, born in 1962, studied at Harvard. He began his journalism career as a foreign correspondent for the Associated Press, reporting from Rwanda and Angola. He later worked as an editor at Men’s Health and contributed to Esquire, The New York Times Magazine, and Outside. He was nominated three times for the National Magazine Award. His first book, Born to Run (2010), became an international bestseller.
