Christopher Isherwood

Christopher Isherwood (1904–1986) was an English writer and screenwriter. He was born in Cheshire and studied history and medicine unsuccessfully in Cambridge and London. In 1929, he went to Berlin, where an important part of his literary work was written. His best-known books include the Berlin Stories, including *Goodbye to Berlin*, as well as *Mr Norris Changes Trains*, *A Single Man*, and *Prater Violet*. Isherwood’s work also addressed homosexual experience.
