Christophe Fricker

Christophe Fricker, born in Wiesbaden in 1978, is a German author and translator. He studied politics, German studies and musicology in Freiburg, Singapore and Halifax, and earned a doctorate on Stefan George at St John’s College, Oxford. He subsequently taught and conducted research at institutions including Duke University, the University of Bristol and the Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg; he also founded and headed the knowledge-services company NIMIRUM. His publications include the poetry collection “Das schöne Auge des Betrachters” (2008), “Larkin Terminal” (2009) and the introduction “Stefan George: Gedichte für Dich”. He received the Hermann Hesse Promotional Award for his poetry and a Merkur Essay Prize for his travel essays. As a translator, he translated nonfiction, picture books, short stories and poetry between English and German.
