Christoph Jamme

Christoph Jamme (1953–2021) was a German philosopher and scholar of literature. He studied German, philosophy, and comparative literature at Ruhr University Bochum, where he received his doctorate in 1981 and completed his habilitation in 1990. From 1994 to 1997, he was Professor of the History of Philosophy, with a particular focus on German Idealism, at Friedrich Schiller University Jena. He subsequently served as Professor of Philosophy at Leuphana University Lüneburg. His research focused on German Idealism, phenomenology and hermeneutics, aesthetics and poetics, and the theory of myth.
