Christian Ulmen

Christian Ulmen, born in 1975, was born in the Rhineland and grew up in Hamburg. He began his career with radio programmes on an open-access channel and hosted various shows on the music network MTV from 1996 to 1999. He subsequently developed and produced the programme »Unter Ulmen«, which combined presenting and acting. He achieved his breakthrough as an actor in 2003 with Leander Haußmann’s film »Herr Lehmann«. Further film and television roles included »Elementarteilchen«, »Männerherzen«, »Dr. Psycho«, »Mein neuer Freund« and »Jerks.«, as well as appearances in the Weimar »Tatort« series. Ulmen has also worked as a producer and audiobook narrator. His work has earned him, among other distinctions, the Bavarian Film Award, the Bavarian Television Award, the Goldene Gong and the Adolf Grimme Award.
