Christian Perronne

Christian Perronne (born 1955) is a French physician with degrees in biochemistry, medicine and human biology, as well as certifications in virology and bacteriology. From 1987 onward, he was a specialist in internal medicine and headed the Department of Infectious and Tropical Diseases at the university hospital in Garches near Paris for more than 25 years. Perronne served on France’s High Council for Public Health and, among other roles, chaired the country’s National Technical Advisory Committee on Vaccination. From 2015 to 2019, he was a member of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control’s vaccine expert group. He published more than 300 articles in international scientific journals and several books, including works addressing the COVID-19 pandemic.
