Chris Clennett

Chris Clennett is a British botanist and horticulturist. He began his approximately 40-year career at botanical gardens in Oxford, where he cultivated hardy, temperate, tropical and desert plants. He started his horticultural studies at Pershore College and continued them from 1987 in Sussex and at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. He completed a master’s degree there and earned a doctorate in plant taxonomy. Clennett served as head of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and wrote the Kew monograph on the genus Erythronium.
