Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger, born in 1951 in Denison, Texas, is an American pilot. He began flying at the age of 16, served as a U.S. Air Force fighter pilot until 1980, and then moved into commercial aviation. He became internationally known for landing an Airbus on the Hudson River on January 15, 2009. As a US Airways captain, he completed his last scheduled flight in March 2010.
