Charles M. Schulz

Charles M. Schulz (1922–2000) was an American cartoonist and author. In 1950, he first published his comic strip “Peanuts,” featuring Charlie Brown and Snoopy, which became his life’s work. The series was later adapted into animated films and a Broadway musical. Schulz reportedly never particularly liked the name “Peanuts.” He ended his work in late 1999 and died on February 12, 2000; the final strip appeared the following day. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award posthumously.
