Chantal-Fleur Sandjon

Chantal-Fleur Sandjon is an Afro-German author, editor and spoken-word artist. Her young adult novel “Die Sonne, so strahlend und Schwarz,” her first coming-of-age novel in verse, was published in 2023 and received, among other distinctions, the German Youth Literature Prize. She received a grant from the German Literature Fund for work on the book. Sandjon’s writing and literary work focus particularly on the representation of Black lives and diversity in German-language children’s and young adult literature. She also worked as a nutrition scientist and published books on raw food, smoothies and healthy nutrition.
