Carlos Spoerhase

Carlos Spoerhase (born 1974) is a German literary scholar. He studied German literature, philosophy, and political theory and worked at the Institute of German Literature at Humboldt University of Berlin from 2010. He later became Professor of Modern German Literature at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. His research focuses on literary history from the seventeenth century to the present, as well as the history of scholarship and the methodology of the humanities. His publications include “Authorship and Interpretation” (2007), “Line, Surface, Space” (2016), “The Format of Literature” (2018), and, as co-author, “Intellectual Labor” (2023).
