Burkhardt Wolf

Burkhardt Wolf studied literary studies, philosophy, and cultural studies. He worked in journalism, exhibition planning, publishing, and as a translator. His academic career included the Institute of German Literature at Humboldt University of Berlin and the University of Vienna, where he was a professor of modern German literature. In 2018, he held an interim professorship in modern German literary studies and general literary studies at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. His research has addressed political representation and social technologies, archival practices, literary anthropology, the history of affect, and the cultural and literary history of the sea and seafaring.
