Bruno Latour

Bruno Latour (1947–2022) was a French sociologist, philosopher, anthropologist, and philosopher of science. He studied philosophy and anthropology and taught at the École nationale supérieure des mines in Paris from 1982 to 2006. He later held professorships at Sciences Po and the Centre de Sociologie des Organisations. He was also a visiting professor at institutions including the University of California, San Diego, the London School of Economics, and Harvard University. Latour was one of the founders of actor-network theory and focused on the sociology of science and technology. He was born in Beaune, Burgundy, to a winemaking family, and died in Paris in 2022.
