Brigitte Reimann (1933–1973) was a German writer. Born in Burg bei Magdeburg, she worked as a freelance author from the publication of her first book, »Die Frau am Pranger« (1956). She became known for the novels »Ankunft im Alltag« (1961), which gave its name to the so-called arrival literature, »Die Geschwister« (1963), and »Franziska Linkerhand« (1974). She also published the travel diary »Das grüne Licht der Steppen« (1965), diaries, and numerous collections of correspondence. Reimann died in Berlin in 1973.
