Brigitte Hilzensauer

Brigitte Hilzensauer, born in 1950 in Niedernsill in the Salzburg region, studied history and German at the University of Vienna. She worked as an editor and copy editor and translated works by, among others, Timothy Snyder and Tim Bonyhady, as well as books by Edmund de Waal. In 2026, she received the State Prize for Literary Translation.
