Boris Strugatsky (1933–2012) was a Russian writer. Together with his brother Arkady Strugatsky (1925–1991), he created an extensive body of novels, stories, and screenplays from the 1950s until 1990, focused primarily on science fiction and fantastic literature. The brothers are regarded as among the most significant Russian writers of the postwar period. Their best-known works include Roadside Picnic, adapted by Andrei Tarkovsky as Stalker. Their books have been translated into more than 30 languages, and several of their novels have been adapted for film.
