Bodo Hell

Bodo Hell, born in Salzburg in 1943, was an Austrian writer. His work encompassed prose, radio and theatre, as well as texts for music, film, photography and the visual arts. From 1979 onward, he also worked in alpine farming and was active as a mountain herder. His books include “666. Erzählungen,” “Nothelfer,” “Ritus und Rita” and “begabte Bäume.” Hell received, among other distinctions, the Rauris Literature Prize (1972), the Erich Fried Prize (1991), the Prize of the Literary Houses (2003), the Telekom Austria Prize (2006), the Christine Lavant Prize and the Heimrad Bäcker Prize (both 2017).
