Bjarte Breiteig, born in 1974 in Kristiansand, Norway, is a Norwegian writer. After abandoning a degree in physics, he studied literature in Trondheim, at the Skrivekunstakademiet and at the University of Bergen. He has published three collections of short stories and the novels My Five Years as a Father (2016) and The Tøyen Effect. His short stories have received numerous national literary awards.
