Bernd-Lutz Lange

Bernd-Lutz Lange (born 1944 in Ebersbach, Saxony) is a German cabaret artist and author. After apprenticeships as a gardener and bookseller, he studied at the book trade college in Leipzig. In 1966, he was a founding member of the cabaret group academixer. From 1988 to 2004 he performed as a duo with Gunter Böhnke, and subsequently with Katrin Weber until 2014. Lange co-authored the Leipzig Six’s appeal for nonviolence and dialogue on October 9, 1989. His books include Mauer, Jeans und Prager Frühling, Das Leben ist ein Purzelbaum, and David gegen Goliath, which he co-wrote with his son Sascha Lange. In 2014, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit.
