Born in 1958, Bernd Aretz studied history and political science in Munich as well as theology in St. Augustin. He worked as a journalist, first as editor-in-chief of a youth magazine and, from 2002, for the theological journal Das Prisma. Aretz is the author of several biographies, including one of Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
