Ben Lerner

Ben Lerner, born in 1979 in Topeka, Kansas, is an American writer. He has written novels, poetry collections and essays, and has also worked on collaborative projects, including with Alexander Kluge. His notable works include the novels *Leaving the Atocha Station* and *10:04*, as well as the essay *The Hatred of Poetry*. As a student, Lerner became a U.S. national debating champion. His work has received numerous honors, including a Guggenheim Fellowship and a MacArthur Fellowship. He has also taught literature as a professor at Brooklyn College.
