Bastian Zach (born 1973 in Leoben) is a novelist and screenwriter. After spending his youth in Salzburg, he studied at the Graphische in Vienna. Together with Matthias Bauer, he co-authored, among other works, the “Morbus Dei” trilogy, “The Blood of the Picts” and the historical family saga “Tränen der Erde.” His crime-fiction debut, “Donaumelodien – Praterblut,” was nominated for the Leo Perutz Prize in 2020. As a screenwriter, Zach also contributed to “One Way Trip 3D” and “Northmen – A Viking Saga.” His enthusiasm for metal music informed the crime novel “Death over Wacken.”
