Barry Stevens (1902–1985) was an author and psychotherapist. She first met Fritz Perls in 1967 and later began training in Gestalt therapy at the Gestalt community he founded at Lake Cowichan in Canada. Stevens explored how people might reconnect with their own perceptions, experiences, and values. Her works include “Don’t Push the River: Gestalt Therapy at Its Roots” and “Of Human Being: Possibilities of Encountering Oneself and Others,” which she co-authored with Carl R. Rogers.
