Born in 1955, Barbara Kingsolver has written novels, poetry, essays and a memoir. Her work has been translated into more than twenty languages and has received numerous awards, including the PEN/Faulkner Award, the Orange Prize for Fiction, the Women’s Prize for Fiction and the Pulitzer Prize. She was also awarded the National Medal of Humanities and elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Kingsolver grew up in Kentucky.
