Barbara Cassin

Barbara Cassin, born in 1947, is a French philosopher and classical philologist. She was a research director at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) and headed the Collège international de philosophie and the Centre Léon Robin at the Sorbonne. She was elected to the Académie française in 2018. Her distinctions include the Académie française’s Grand prix de philosophie (2012) and the CNRS Gold Medal (2018).
