Banine

Banine (1905–1992), born Umm-El-Banine Assadoulaeff, fled from Baku to Paris in 1923. There, she was regarded as a central figure of the Bohemian scene. Her circle included, among others, Ernst Jünger, whom she is said to have helped make known in France.
