August Diehl

August Diehl (born 1976) studied acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. He has worked on stage and in film and television and was a member of the ensemble of Vienna’s Burgtheater. His screen credits include »23«, »Inglourious Basterds«, »Salt«, »Night Train to Lisbon« and »The New Tomorrow«. For his performance in »23«, he received the Bavarian Film Award for Best Young Actor; he also won the German Film Award for Best Actor and the Nestroy Theatre Prize for his portrayal of Hamlet. As an audiobook narrator, he has contributed to recordings including »All Quiet on the Western Front«, »Arbeit und Struktur« and »In Plüschgewittern«.
