Arno Deister

Prof. Dr. Arno Deister is a German psychiatrist and specialist author. He served as chief physician of the Center for Psychosocial Medicine at Itzehoe Hospital for more than 20 years. As a representative of psychiatric departments in general hospitals, he was a member of the board of the German Association for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Psychosomatics and Neurology (DGPPN). He also played a leading role in introducing the regional psychiatric budget in Itzehoe, a funding model that was used at only a few hospitals in Germany at the time.
