Arie Hartog

Arie Hartog (born 1963 in Maastricht) studied art history at the Catholic University of Nijmegen, where he received his doctorate in 1989 with a dissertation on modern German figurative sculpture. From 1992 to 1995, he taught architectural history and museology there. In 1996, Hartog joined the Gerhard-Marcks-Haus in Bremen as a curator and became its director in 2009. His main research focus is the history of twentieth-century sculpture.
