Antonio Scurati was born in Naples in 1969. He taught comparative literature at the University of Milan and contributed to newspapers including Corriere della Sera and El País. His novels have been translated into numerous languages and received several awards, including the Premio Mondello and the Premio Campiello. He gained international recognition for his novel project about the rise of fascism in Europe. He received the Premio Strega for M: Son of the Century and the Prix du Livre Européen for M: The Man of Providence.
