Antonio Damasio

Antonio Damasio (born 1944) is a neuroscientist, neurologist, and psychologist. He served as a professor at the University of Southern California and as director of its Brain and Creativity Institute. Damasio received numerous awards and was a member or fellow of institutions including the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities. His best-known books include “Descartes’ Error,” “The Spinoza Effect,” and “I Feel, Therefore I Am,” which have been translated into numerous languages. In 2011, he received the Corine Prize for “Self Comes to Mind.”
