Antonio Carluccio

Antonio Carluccio (1937–2017) was an Italian cookbook author and restaurateur. Born in southern Italy, he grew up in Piedmont and moved to England in 1975 as an importer of Italian wines. There he became manager of the Neal Street Restaurant in Covent Garden, which he acquired in 1989. He wrote 24 cookbooks, translated into 18 languages, and appeared in BBC television series devoted to Mediterranean cuisine.
