Annie Ernaux, born in 1940, is a French-language writer. She published around twenty novels, many of which were acclaimed by critics and readers. Her largely autobiographical work explores, among other subjects, personal memory and social experience; Ernaux described herself as an “ethnologist of herself.” One of her notable books is »L’événement«, which was adapted for the screen and released in cinemas in 2021. In 2022, she was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
