Annette Ramelsberger

Annette Ramelsberger attended the German School of Journalism and studied law, politics, and journalism. She worked as an editor at Der Spiegel and the Berliner Zeitung, and as an East Germany correspondent for the Associated Press during the fall of the Berlin Wall. From 1997, she worked at the Süddeutsche Zeitung as a department head and political reporter; from 2012, she was a court reporter there. Her reporting covered, among other subjects, the NSU trial, the Halle attack, and the trials of Reichsbürger members. She received the Nannen Prize for special journalistic achievement for her reporting on the NSU trial. She was also named Journalist of the Year twice and received the City of Munich’s Publizistikpreis for her life’s work in 2025.
