Anna Felder (born 1937 in Lugano) studied literature at the universities of Zurich and Paris and earned her doctorate with a thesis on Eugenio Montale. She subsequently worked as an Italian teacher and writer. Her works include the novels and story collections «Tra dove piove e non piove» (1972), «La disdetta» (1974), «Gli stretti congiunti» (1980), «Nozze alte» (1981), and «Nati complici» (1999). She also wrote radio dramas and the play «L’accordatore» (1997). She received the Schiller Prize for her complete works in 1998, the Aargau Literature Prize in 2004, and the Swiss Grand Prix for Literature in 2018.
