Angelo Ara, born in 1942 in Stresa Borromeo (Novara), is an Italian historian. He taught modern history at an Italian university and specialized in Italian and Austrian history in the 19th and 20th centuries. In collaboration with Claudio Magris, he published the book “Trieste: A Literary Capital of Central Europe” in 1999.
