Angelika Fischer, born in Berlin in 1947, trained as a photographer at the E. Bieber studio in Berlin-Steglitz. She subsequently worked as an industrial and press photographer before becoming a freelance photographer in 1983. Her photographs appeared in publications in Germany and abroad, alongside free artistic black-and-white series. Fischer published numerous books of her own, including “Bastionen des Lichts,” which received a Stiftung Buchkunst award in 1997, as well as the cultural-historical series “Spurensuche” and “Zwischen den Zeiten.” From 2002, she was a photographic author and co-publisher at Edition A·B·Fischer. Her other works included “Coco de Mer,” published in German and English in 2008 and in French in 2010. Her work was shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
